Cities for People Campaign Leader
Description:based in one of Bankwatch offices in central and eastern Europe
The Cities campaign leader will work on advancing Bankwatch’s strategy and will support the work of different campaign teams in the area of Cities for People within the CEE region, in the EU and its Neighbourhood. Their work will include advocacy work related to EU and iInternational fFinancial iInstitutions’ policies and investments in urban development.
Key elements of the profile:
- Developing campaign plan and budget in line with Strategic Area Plan
- Monitoring and ensuring the implementation of the campaign plan and specific activities
- Coordinating campaign activities with Bankwatch member groups and partners
- Researching good and bad practice in urban development, for example with regards to mobility, urban transport, waste management.
- Producing public and media outreach materials.
- Supporting member, partner groups and communities in monitoring and participating in urban development projects by EU fFunds/ and IFIs.
- Leading advocacy with decision-makers at IFIs and EU level on urban development issues.
Key skills and knowledge:
- Experience with advocacy and campaigning
- Experience with urban development, with specific focus on topics such as waste management and circular economy, urban mobility, bottom-up decision-making and public participation
- Excellent research, writing and communication skills
- Strong team player
- Strong motivation for Bankwatch’s campaign and affinity for Bankwatch’s mission
- Familiarity with the regions where Bankwatch works (central eastern Europe, including the Balkans and Caucasus, and Central Asia)
- Eperience with working in international organisations in an asset
- Readiness to travel
- Fluency in English is required, knowing any CEE languages is a strong advantage

We offer a competitive salary for international NGOs from central and eastern Europe, which is based on location and commensurate with work experience.
